Promotion and Bonus Plans
Terms & Conditions Explained
Backround of the Bonus
Corporations who operate casinos, whether land based or online are in a very competitive industry. The question becomes, what do they do to attract clients and keep them playing and coming back? The answer lies somewhere between the games offered, customer service, and bonus plans they present. Herein is the dilemma however, many online casinos offer different types of bonuses and promotions; that said, terms and conditions will vary as well depending on the individual management team. So while its nice to compare the various casinos and what type of bonuses you can get, it may be difficult to understand the terms, because they can be difficult to understand at times. Were going to do our best here, to explain the T and C's of the sign up bonus. All bonuses have T & C's and you do need to read over them carefully. If there are things you dont understand then call, or email their customer service department; you can find their contact information on the individual review pages for each casino we present. In addition, if there are any terms, or conditions you dont like, then the best advise we can give you is to stay away from those casinos, including if there is something you dont agree with at any of the casinos we share here. This is about you, and what you want in an online casino, so do your homework. Please!
The Sign-Up Bonus
The sign up bonus has given way to the Welcome Bonus, which is basically the same thing, but I guess welcome sounds better than sign up, like, maybe more politically correct. This is the bonus you receive when you register and then make your first deposit. When the industry first started in the mid-late 1990’s the Welcome bonus were a little more conservative, usually around 20% of that first deposit, now however we can see them as high as 300% with most of them now between 100-200%. However, don’t think they are going to hand you $2000 with your first $1000 deposit, oh you’ll get, but there are the dreaded T & C’s, one of which is called the Roll Over. The deposit you made plus the bonus amount awarded to you is subject to, say a 30X play through requirement before the deposit and bonus amounts can be withdrawn. All bonus amounts are subject to wagering requirements before any winnings can be issued or withdrawn.
You must begin to wager to collect. Heres an average example. Lets say you're offered a 100% Sign-Up Bonus. So, if you deposit $500, you get $500 as a bonus. Don’t forget, the casino specifies a 5x rollover of the deposit + bonus amount, which means you’ll have to bet 5x ($500, your deposit) + ($500, your bonus). Thats 5 times $1000. In other words, you can collect the bonus only after placing bets worth $5000. The rollover amount varies from sportsbook to sportsbook. Remember, you dont have to deposit $500, you can deposit as little as $25; its your game and your decision to make.
There are other types of bonuses as well, like the reload bonus, which is usually less of a bonus percentage. The reload bonus is when you re-deposit money into your account. Im more of a sports better, so when I reload the online sportsbooks I bet at, I am usually offered a 25% bonus on the amount I add to my account, with the T&Cs being pretty much the same. The important thing is to always check out the terms and conditions yourself, we cannot stress this important fact enough.
